What do you do when your air crashes in the middle of a heat wave? You jump on the frozen rose‘ bandwagon and then blog about your experience since you haven’t posted anything on this website in what seems like F O R E V E R.

I came home last Thursday to discover a leak coming from the ceiling. What happened next? Our entire central air unit for our apartment decided to crash. With Hoboken's average temperature in the mid 90's, our apartment was a continuous sweltering average of about 86 degrees (give or take a few depending on the time of day). I knew I needed something to cure my woes and since I often feel guilty about drinking during the week (especially solo), I promised myself that if I forced myself to at least go running, my reward would be a homemade rose‘ slushy. They look DELICIOUS and are currently all the rage.

I was a little skeptical about making one myself but after searching Pinterest and common hashtags on instagram, I was set. The recipe I used was simple, healthy (I mean c'mon, besides the wine it's just fruit), and DELICIOUS.

What You'll Need:

- 1 glass of Rose' wine (I used Whispering Angel)

- 5 frozen strawberries (and 1 unfrozen for an optional garnish)

- 1 moderate chunk of frozen watermelon

- Blender

I mixed the above together for about 20 seconds in my Nutribullet, I garnished my glass with the unfrozen strawberry so it would look fancier for the Instagram picture I posted (also posted above), and I sat back on my couch and relaxed.

There were other recipes I saw that called for vodka and for sugar but I really didn't find these to be necessary. Maybe I'd add in some Tito's if I was making this for a group, or if it wasn't a Tuesday.

If you haven't already tried this yourself, you've got about one more month of summer to join the trend!
