I've visited Saint Patrick's Cathedral numerous times over the years and have always wanted to attend mass there. The church has been in the process of being restored and was expected to be finished this month. The renovations include updates for the organ, the pews, the stained glass windows, the ceiling, and some exterior work.

I had arrived back at my apartment from spending the holidays at my parents a little later than expected, but after walking in the door I threw down my stuff, squeezed in a quick work out at the gym, got myself ready, and rushed into the city for their 5:30 mass. The city was jam-packed with tourists visiting the tree but I eventually got there. I will say -- for the amount of people who were circulating the church while mass was taking place, they were respectful. It was nice to be in such a big place with such an extensive amount of people and experience such peace. I'm not the most religious person but I do enjoy attending mass at my local parish here and there.

If you're not a believer, at least go to experience the history and the extensive architecture. You won't regret it!
