THIS IS HOW I FALL

As mentioned in last night's post, this year’s fall season kicked off with one of my best friend's wedding in Florida on Marco Island. To say that spending an extended weekend in a beautiful place, surrounded with friends I barely get to see all at the same time was a blast, is an understatement. And just five days after flying home from Florida I attended another amazing wedding for two of my favorite people in the world, Tara and Christian.

This year I’m exceptionally excited to pack away my summer clothes and let my sweaters and boots make their debut. There’s a lot on my calendar to look forward to and each day seems to have brought something even better.

A few things I’m especially happy about…

  • My old roommate’s boyfriend put a ring on it (congrats Meghan and Chas!)

  • This weekend’s upcoming hiking trip with my gf’s (weather permitting)

  • The 2015 Hunt (buy your tickets at an advanced pickup location instead of online, & save $20)

  • Dunkin Donut’s Dark Roast Coffee with 1-2 pumps of pumpkin syrup

  • Halloween (despite hating the idea of it from 2011-2013)

  • 16 Handles Pumpkin Pie Froyo

  • Last but certainly not least; one of my closest friend’s from home and her husband (Melissa and Joe Sanseverino), are expecting their first child! And HOW CUTE is their announcement?!...

While on the topic of pumpkins, my preferred pumpkin smoothie recipe is here:

  • Spinach Leaves (2 Cups)

  • 1 Frozen Banana

  • 1 Apple (Cored)

  • Libby’s Pure Pumpkin (2 Tablespoons)

  • Almond Milk (3/4 Cup)

  • Flaxseeds (1 Tablespoons)

  • 2 Icecubes

  • 1-3 Dashes of Cinnamon to Taste *Mix all ingredients in a blender (I prefer the NutriBullet 600), pop in a straw, and you're set.

Another concoction I've tried (pictured below) but depending on your taste buds may not have mastered, is more of a parfait. Combine the ingredients listed below, stir vigorously with a spoon until mixed, and serve with a spoon:

  • Fage 0% Plain Greek Yogurt(1/2 Cup)

  • 1 Apple (Cored and Cut Into Small Pieces)

  • Libby’s Pure Pumpkin (2 Tablespoons)

  • Almond Milk (3/4 Cup)

  • PB2 (1.5 tablespoons)

  • Flaxseeds (1.5 Teaspoons)

  • 1-3 Dashes of Cinnamon to Taste

My last two posts have been made possible by my upstairs neighbor, Nick. He graciously sent me the password to his wifi upon discovering ours wasn’t working and knew I was anxious to post this. Ladies, in case you were wondering he’s 24, single, has a decent job, and just completed and passed both the series 7 and 63. There was once a time when I wasn't too fond of him due to his inability to not wake me up at odd hours of the night when he’d stumble in from drinking but we eventually resolved our differences at the bar below us and have been compadre’s ever since. Sometimes he even offers to make me screwdrivers when I’m really hungover. Keep it in mind ladies…
