KELLEY'S MILES FOR MELANOMA

Hi Everyone!

Please CLICK HERE to support my roommate Kelley in her upcoming run in the Miles for Melanoma 5k this Sunday, September 20th! Last year Kelley came in 1st for her age group and was the 2nd female finisher overall. (We enjoy referring to her as speed-racer Kelley.)

Any contribution is greatly appreciated and you can learn why this cause is so important to both Kelley and her family by reading below:

"Melanoma runs on my Dad's side of the family. His brother, my uncle, had a melanoma on his back that went undetected. Unfortunately, he passed away 6 months after diagnosis at the age of 32. I grew up getting annual mole checks and lectures about the sun and sun safety. Throughout the years I've learned how important it is to remain educated and vigilant with your health and preventative measures. Any little bit I can do to help educate people, specifically my generation and friends, is what motivates me to run this race. Statistics show that Melanoma is the most common form of cancer for young adults 25-29 years old and the second most common form of cancer for young people 15-29 years old. The fact that my uncle was just a few years older than me when he passed away is an eye opening and humbling reality." - Kelley Yole

Miles for Melanoma is sponsored by the Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) which is the largest independent organization devoted to melanoma. They are committed to the support of medical research in finding effective treatments and eventually a cure for melanoma. The MRF also educates patients, caregivers and physicians about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of melanoma.

Thank you again for your help! We're proud of you Kelley!
